Here you can register for the fide test on the CEFR levels A1 to B1 at least 3 weeks before the exam date. The speaking and understanding part can be completed at a different level to the reading and writing part. The content is adapted to everyday life in Switzerland. You will then receive the results of the fide test, the language passport and the certificate by post. It can take up to 6 weeks to receive the results.
Speaking and understanding: 50 minutes
Reading and writing: 75 minutes (approx. 15 minutes introduction, 60 minutes test)
You can register for the entire fide test or for either one of the parts (Speaking and Understanding or Reading and Writing). You can repeat the fide test as a whole (as well as the oral part or the written part individually) as often as you like.

The Registration to the fide test is definitive. The Fee must be paid by the time of the examination. For Deregistrations up to two weeks before the start of the event, we charge CHF 75.- Cancellation fees. Thereafter, the full fee must be paid.
In the event of non-attendance or failure to pass the examination, the fee will be not refunded. The fide test can be repeated several times for a fee. A new language certificate and language pass with the respective level will be issued.
The K5 Basler Kurszentrum carries out the fide test. The correction and evaluation is carried out by the fide office, which is independent of the K5 Basler Kurszentrum. By registering, the candidate agrees that the K5 Basler Kurszentrum may view the examination documents and the results (after correction and evaluation by the fide office) for quality assurance purposes.
