Admission requirements
  • Competencies and experience in educational work with adults (via SVEB certificate (AdA ZA-DL)) are required to conduct learning events with groups of adults or equivalence according to regulations
  • Proven practical experience of at least 100 hours of 60 minutes each in second language teaching with migrants.
  • > Participants have linguistic and meta-linguistic skills in the local official language (CEFR level C1 or higher).
  • > Participants have already successfully completed the module "Foreign and Second Language Didactics" or have proof of an equivalent qualification.
  • > Participants understand the local colloquial language (dialect) and confirm this by self-declaration.
  • Willingness to actively participate
Proof of competence

In order to receive the module test, you must actively participate in the courses (min. 80 %) and your proof of competence must be assessed as "fulfilled".

Application deadline

2 weeks before the course starts. If places are available, registrations are also possible after the registration deadline.

Competencies

  • Plan, design and evaluate learning units together with the learners
  • Design scenario-based learning units as a continuous co-constructive cycle of goal setting, planning, implementation, documentation and evaluation
  • enable the practical application of the language skills acquired in class in communication situations related to everyday life
  • Adapt or develop teaching materials to suit the scenario and with participants in mind
  • Support learners in using the target language in all modes (receptive, productive, interactive, mediative) with regard to their concrete lifeworlds
  • Encourage learners to use bridging languages when necessary to achieve their communication goal
  • take the principle of internal differentiation into account when planning and designing learning units
  • facilitate and promote a culture of feedback and assessment in the teaching and learning process and take feedback into account in the further design of learning units
  • support learners in creating learning documentation that enables sustainable learning
  • support learners in identifying and developing individual learning strategies and using them sustainably, and
  • Reflect on the planning and design of the learning unit, formulate findings and derive consequences for alternative approaches.

  • Principles and standards of fide
  • Scenario didactics according to the fide approach in the context of the action-oriented approach
  • Using the didactic resources on the fide web portal
  • Modes of language use (receptive, productive, interactive, mediative) according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and its accompanying volume
  • Dialogue with learners about content, learning processes and results
  • Internal differentiation in scenario didactics according to the fide approach
  • Importance and possible forms of analog and digital learning documentation with regard to sustainable learning
  • Various assessment occasions and forms of evaluation

Deregistration
Cancellation up to three weeks before the start of the course is free of charge, after that the full course price must be paid.

Course implementation
If there are too few registrations, the K5 Basler Kurszentrum may cancel the course up to one week before the start of the course. Course fees already paid will be refunded.

Modulate test
Participants must fulfill the following requirements to obtain the modulat test:

  • > Active participation in the courses according to the course program (classroom teaching) (at least 80% per module)
  • > Proof of competence assessed as "passed" by the module lecturer

Appeals and repetition
A written objection (to the attention of the manager) may be lodged within 30 days, stating the reasons, against the "fail" assessment of a certificate of competence. The module provider decides on this:
a) the approval of the objection (proof of competence "passed" after all),
b) the repetition
c) the rejection of the objection.
